Forest CNC Router Tool Changer Setup Procedure

Follow these steps to properly set up the tool change process on your Forest CNC Router:

  1. Power on the machine and open CNC12 software.
  2. Press the reset button located at the bottom of the control.
  3. Home the machine.
    Press the Cycle Start button to initiate homing.
  4. Load the tool rack.
    Insert tools into the rack and make note of each tool's location.
  5. Access the Tool Library:
    Press F1 for Setup → F2 for Tool → F2 again for Tool Library.
  6. Assign descriptions to tool numbers.
    Enter names/descriptions for each tool and press F10 to save.
  7. Open the Offset Library:
    Press F1 for Offset Library.
  8. Batch select the tools to be measured.
    Choose the batch option and enter the tool numbers (e.g., 1–8) to measure.
  9. Run tool measurement.
    Stay by the computer and hit Cycle Start multiple times as the machine measures tools.
  10. Use the last measured tool as your reference.
    Jog the machine to where you want to set your Z program zero. Use the TTO (Tool Touch Off) to do this.
  11. Set the reference height:
    Once positioned over the TTO, press F1 for Reference and F3 to auto-measure.
  12. Save the settings.
    Press F10 to save.
  13. Set your Z Program Zero:
    Use the TTO and the reference tool (the last tool used above) to set your Z PROGRAM ZERO using the auto feature.
